copywriter & creative director

Let's just get this out of the way: I don't have a degree in advertising. I don't have a degree in anything actually, because instead of going to college I joined the Army. Yeah, my parents were surprised too. But I got to be a radio disc jockey in Europe for three years and interview a ton of celebrities and ski in the Alps, so that was cool. When I came back to the States, I used that broadcast journalism training to land a job writing cable TV ads in the Chicago suburbs, and then eventually took a junior copywriter position at a small agency downtown. 19 years later I'm a Creative Director who has done everything from commercials to social media content to those little annoying things that stick out and bump your cart at the grocery store. Sorry about those.

If I wasn't in advertising, I would be an interior designer with a dog rescue and a small bakery that sells only carrot cakes. I'm available for freelance or full-time, and if you wanted me to move to Michigan the answer would be yes.
